Crafting by Steph is run by an avid lifetime crafter, (surprisingly or not, called Steph,) turned small business owner. The business offers
As a member of Yeovil Creatives, I am able to sell my work in Yeovil Art Space, in the Quedam Shopping Centre. The annual membership brings lots of benefits, such as free training, skill sharing, exhibition space, workshop space and more.
Yeovil Art Space is a growing registered charity with a central space in Yeovil town centre, which promotes creativity in the community, provides exhibition space for local artists and creative education, amongst other things.
During 2023 and continuing, Yeovil Art Space is gaining funding for community projects in partnership with other organisations and I feel privileged to be among the artists who are providing activities for these projects.
The 4th edition of Abstract by Steph, entitled Aotearoa (the Maori name for New Zealand), was released in October and will be available to purchase for one year from this website or at any of the craft fairs and markets that Crafting by Steph will be attending.
This edition was inspired by a visit to New Zealand in March 2024, when I spent a month touring both North & South Islands. The people were very friendly, wildlife was incredible and the scenery was awe-inspiring. I even stood on a glacier that is not likely to exist at the end of the century.
I love colour and I had to have a play whilst I was processing the images. I am excited by the images I have produced for this edition, and I hope you like it too.
Within the range are pendant necklaces, bangles, adjustable rings, two styles of earrings, keyrings and fridge magnets.
While there is interesting colour and pattern in the images, they lack texture. During 2025 you will see the arrival of silver jewellery to provide texture from the photographs with silver clay.
